As a Ugandan-based community-focused school, The Olive School – Namugongo is committed to providing accessible education and supporting positive engagement with families, schools, and service organisations in our local area.
Below are examples of recent outreach initiatives and educational partnerships with the surrounding community.
Music and Arts in the Community
Our music teachers regularly host choir clinics, inter-school performances, and creative workshops for neighbouring primary schools. These events are designed to help pupils develop confidence and cultural awareness through singing, drumming, and traditional Ugandan music. Most events are open to the public free of charge and include our Music Fridays lunchtime concert series featuring student talent from P1 to P7.
Inclusive Pupil Service Clubs
Our Community Outreach Club supports inclusive activities for children with disabilities and vulnerable youth. In collaboration with local disability organisations and parent groups, our pupils help facilitate sports days, creative art sessions, and holiday celebrations such as Christmas fairs and Independence Day events that welcome children from different backgrounds.
Local School Collaborations
The Olive School actively partners with other private and public schools in Namugongo and Kira Municipality. Through shared workshops, academic competitions, and teacher exchange programmes, we promote peer learning and professional development. We’ve also co-hosted academic clinics in numeracy, science, and early literacy for pupils preparing for PLE (Primary Leaving Examinations).
